At Coburg West Primary we have a rigorous whole school approach to assessment utilising a range of assessments This ensures a comprehensive understanding of each student is achieved. Assessment instruments include benchmark testing in core learning areas, pre and post unit assessment, classroom work, work samples and observation. Student self assessment is a feature of our approach.

All gathered data is regularly analysed and used to inform our evidence based approach to teaching as well as our extensive staff professional learning program.

Parents are provided with comprehensive twice yearly written reports supplemented by parent interviews mid year. Parents and teachers also meet regularly across the year as needs arise. Parents are welcome to make appointments with class teachers at mutually agreeable times.

Parents are welcome at our regular whole school and team expos where student learning achievement is celebrated.
