Tours of the school, expressions of interest and enrolments are taken at any time throughout the year. Coburg West has a restricted entry policy of 500 students and at times enrolments outside our local area need to be placed on a waiting list. If you are enrolling a student, you will need to bring an immunisation certificate, which is obtainable from Moreland City Council, a recent utilities account / bill that states your current residential address and proof of your child’s birth. Telephone the school on 03 9386 1286 to make an appointment.
Coburg West P.S. has a compulsory school uniform policy and all students are expected to be suitably attired at all times. Children must wear the appropriate sports uniform when representing our school.
Parents are encouraged to participate in many aspect of the school, including parent helper programs, excursions, working bees, Parents and Friends Association and School Council.
The school structures its grades depending on the number of students at each grade level. At times we have straight grades and other times composite. At the end of each year the students are allocated to a new grade and teacher.
Due to the small playground area an enrolment ceiling has been approved by the Department of Education and Training through the Northern Metropolitan Regional Office. Preference is given to families where Coburg West is the closest school to their home (straight line distance).
For further information, the enrolment handbook is available for download here. You will need Adobe Reader which can be downloaded here: Adobe Reader Download
